Sunrise is an excellent modern summer apple, ripening at the end of August. It is distinctly crisp to the bite, and the flavour is fairly sharp, but sweeter than many other early varieties.
Unlike many early-season apple varieties, Sunrise will keep for up to a week in a fridge. The apples will also hang on the tree over a period of 2-3 weeks without becoming overripe, allowing you to pick the apples as you need them.
